CONTENT ASSISTANT - FREELANCE/CONTRACT

Altar Socials is looking for a talented content creator to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves weddings, photography, fashion and storytelling, and wants to build their experience within the wedding industry alongside an established wedding photographer and content creator.

​

You’ll work closely with Katie, founder of Altar Socials, initially shadowing her on larger weddings and taking the lead on social-first content creation while she photographs the couple. As you grow into the role, there will be opportunities to shoot weddings independently on behalf of Altar Socials. You’ll be involved from brief to final delivery, working closely with Katie on each couple, understanding their vision, capturing the in-between moments and creating the luxury, elevated and editorial content that Altar Socials is known for.

THE ROLE

This is a flexible opportunity designed to work well as a side hustle. There are no set weekly hours or shifts — you’ll be booked onto weddings as they come through, with dates agreed in advance.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Capturing candid, social-first wedding content on iPhone and/or digital camera

• Shadowing Katie on larger weddings and assisting with content coverage

• Working from individual couple briefs and creative direction

• Capturing behind-the-scenes, details, moments and the overall feeling of the day

• Organising and delivering content within Altar Socials' workflow

• Eventually taking on weddings independently as an Altar Socials content creator

• Representing the Altar Socials brand professionally and warmly at every wedding​

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has a genuine love for weddings, fashion, photography and visual storytelling

• Has a strong eye for candid moments and beautiful details

• Is confident capturing content on an iPhone and/or camera

• Understands social media and what makes content feel natural, current and engaging

• Is discreet, observant and comfortable working within a fast-paced wedding environment

• Is reliable, organised and professional

• Is excited to learn and develop their skills within the industry

• Has a warm, easy-going personality and works well as part of a small team​

Previous wedding experience is a bonus, but not essential. The right eye, attitude and willingness to learn are just as important. Drivers license is a MUST.

​

This role is designed to be an extension of the Altar Socials team. As you’ll be representing the brand and working with our couples, the position is exclusive to Altar Socials, meaning you won’t be able to operate your own competing wedding content creation business or work independently as a content creator for other wedding content creators while working with us.

In return, you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with Katie, learn firsthand from an established wedding photographer and content creator, gain experience across a range of weddings and couples, and grow into independently shooting weddings on behalf of Altar Socials.
